ABOUT SULLIVAN's ISLAND

Sullivan’s Island is a small barrier island just outside of Charleston, SC and connected to the mainland by the Ben Sawyer Bridge. It feels relaxed the moment you roll over the bridge: low rooftops, quiet streets, and wide stretches of natural beach. You get boardwalks and sand paths through the grass, families walking to the water with chairs and coolers, tide pools and dunes, and that first glimpse of the lighthouse as you head out to the beach at your favorite Station...each with its own vibe.

The island has a long, complicated history. Fort Moultrie sits on the south end, where early battles of the Revolutionary War played out and where Edgar Allan Poe was once stationed. For generations, people have come here for simple beach days and slow bike rides.

Tight architectural and zoning rules keep the island feeling cohesive, with homes that fit the landscape instead of fighting it. There are quirks and house rules, too: like no drinking on the beach, a tight noise ordinance, and ‘No Wheels On Pavement’ parking signs throughout the island…all meant to keep things orderly when the crowds show up.

Sully & Co. grew out of that mix of relaxed and put-together that you feel on Sullivan’s. The calm colors, clean stripes, and unfussy details in our gear are all pulled from time spent with our friends and family on these beaches and streets. We hope that when you throw on one of our polos or hats, it feels a little like being back on the island, even if you are miles from the coast.
